    So, I went back to the shop, and they just tested it and said "it's dud... here's a new one" so I got a new charger. Just like that. all is well...

    Ok, I'm in the UK, so the numbers may be different - the shops certainly are. I got my phone free from a shop called Phones4u (rediculous, I know)...
