    I just called Motorola customer service and they said that the HS810 and HS820 headsets cannot listen to mp3s and that this will not be changed...

    V710 Tips and Tricks

    That did it. Just hit "hide" and get back to the main screen and you can close the lid and control the mp3 player from the outside. Thanks!
