I have the GSM Version w/ 21R, and I have the same problem. This phone is so much quieter than my old Nokia.
Why do you need to get the phone w/o service? When your contract is up, they'll let you upgrade the phone. Can't you just sign another 1 year...
I called Motorola, and they told me these cannot be deleted. I want to get rid of them too to free up space for graphics I actually like.
I think the prices are about the same regardless. Each service provider has their own deals. I just bought mine from an AT&T store.
I have the same problem, but don't know of any "extra lound" ringtones.
