    I am a college student 5 states away from home, and every time I try to call long distance, the phone abruptly cuts to the verizon logo screen in...

    vx8300 won't boot

    I am having the same problem with an lg vx 8300, but it occurs in the middle of a call. The phone shuts off and the verizon logo fades in and out....
