Oh thanks JK for posting this one, a friend was telling me about it and I really got a kick out of it.

My pleasure, TJ. I have a call in to the site owner, Interconnect Towers to see what more I can learn about the site. I'll post updates. All in all, however, this is a very interesting and impressive site.

Wow. I wonder what it looks like inside? Also wouldn't it have been much easier to just make a palm?
    • TelcomJunkie
I'd imagine it's just a shell, like a house front for a movie set.

So some AT&T field tech couldn't use it as a free motel room to go on camping trips and things? :D

Still no word from the site owner.

If he calls back I'll try and get info on the interior of the site. In a different photo on my own site, you can see the two roll-up doors and two AC compressors (I presume one for each carrier). I suspect the first floor is separated into separate secure areas for each carrier, but that the second and third floors are open for antenna mounts.

I just spoke with the site owner...a very nice guy, and clearly proud of his site.

The site currently houses AT&T Wireless and Sprint Wireless. Each of the three floors is isolated by carrier, and more can go in. Some other carriers are attached to a water tank site below the adobe, about 200' in elevation lower. The adobe 'sees' substantially farther into the canyon south along SR 62.

That's a pretty cool site. I wonder if they have room for more carriers.

Sprint has had a site in this location for a good number of years. Has it always been on this sturcture? It's one of the few areas I never managed to get up to.
    • Jonathan Kramer
Happy New Years, G. Yes, the site owner says there's room for more. Given the size of the structure, and the description from the site owner, I'd estimate that there's room for at least two more carrier macrocell sites.

      Happy New Years, Larry.

I didn't ask the site owner how long Sprint's been there. Cingular was the first carrier in 2001.

You don't know how much pleasure it gives me to know that I got to and photographed a major Sprint site before you. :browani: You've nailed just about every major Sprint site in SoCal already, so you're overall record is very safe!
