Is there one set of panels way down on that pole?

Boy that looks like it dates back to the 80's or something. :D

It is a really odd looking structure I have to say.
    • larry
Yep I've never seen any others like it which leads me to believe that it is very old.

And newer Verizon sites I have seen have generators as part of the equipment housing, meaning the shelter is seperated into two parts and has two doors...one for the equipment and one for the generator.

I wonder how far this covers, as it looks like it's pretty short.

While the tower may be short, it is on top of a hill overlooking both a major freeway and a high end residential neighborhood. If you look at this picture, you can see how high the tower area is above the serving area.

The three sectors on this site all have a specific coverage plan, the top one covers the residential area east of the 405 FWY/Muholland neighborhood, the ones next to the top microwave dish are covering a portion of the 405 FWY and the panels next to the lower microwave dish are covering the Mountaingate community (Sprint covers it with this site)

There is a fourth set of panels visible very low in the picture which are part of the Nextel site right behind it. and not attached to this tower.

Definitely nothing like that around where I am, although I guess there is no mountains around where I am either...ha ha.

      Thanks for the response.
