Ah ha! Thanks! Now how did i miss that

In the past few months, the lower set of of antennas has been upgraded. But here is a strange finding, only 1/3 sectors had an update.

Here is one of the shark fin pannels that was removed. It's not sitting at the base of the tower

    • Yankees368
Ok, This pole has been messed with, pannels changed and added and whatnot. Here are some updated pictures.

On this shot, the top set is clearly different pannels:[IMG]

Here is the 2nd set down, and all types of pannels are being replaced. Why, I have no idea... but they are. [IMG]

Looks like the bottom is Nextel and they've upgraded it to a Synergy site. The three are the Nextel ones and the far right one is Sprint.
    • Yankees368
Is Nextel known to use old style Shark Fin antenna? Also, I guess this means that Verizon is the top set of antenna, but there is only 1 type of antenna up there. They would need at least 2, 850 and 1900 EVDO.
    • Yankees368
Updated again, added Sprint to the Nextel sectors. This explains why service has been on the rise in this area, now what do they do with the old site that is across the street?!

    • larry
Yep that sure if a synergy site. And it's also a full blown site and not a repeater which is always good. Are you sure that the site across the street is Sprint? If so they'll probably de-commission it. Unless they need it as a capacity site.
    • larry
The top looks like Verizon to me but could also be Cingular.
    • Yankees368
Well the top set is Verizon, I know that for a fact, but its odd because it's only 1 type of pannel up there, and verizon usually needs 2 for both 850 and 1900 EVDO.

And yeah, Sprints old site is directly across the street at either this site http://gallery.wirelessadvisor.com/showimage.php?i=437&catid=searchresults&searchid=445 or this one http://gallery.wirelessadvisor.com/showimage.php?i=434&catid=searchresults&searchid=445
