Verizon In Ellenboro

This picture was taken the day after an EF-2 tornado hit 2 miles NW of the town (and this tower) on 1-11-2012. This Verizon cell tower is located in Ellenboro, North Carolina. It is a recent tower (built in 2010).

      Yes I did, I drove up there on my moped just to see it and I took this pic while I was there.
      It's about 20 miles north of my house.

      Most of the damage was along Piney Mountain Church Rd, about 2-3 miles north this tower.
      This tower is at the end of Piney Mountain Church Rd, near the town of Ellenboro itself.

      Here's comparison pix of the EF-2 tornado damage from last week in Ellenboro NC, not too far from me.
      Both of these pix were of the same house. The pic on the left was taken by helicopter the day after (Jan 12)
      and the pic on the right was mine (taken Jan 14). You can see the scope of the damage, I can't believe I was there.
