VA Fake Tree #1

One of three fake tree monopole in Virginia (another in Newport News and the other is in Reston). Site construction made the the local paper back in 2002. VoiceStream colocated during their mid-03 buildout.

      Actually they paid real close attention to the details. It has fake bark all the way to the base :)

      This photo is an excellent example of why (a) the branch coverage should come down to about 9' AGL, and (b) why bark cladding all the way up, including above the lowest branch level, is so valuable. In this photo it's easy to see the sun reflect off the flat metal above the lowest branches. Bark cladding would look more natural, and not reflect the sun.
