Sprint Adding Cdma To An Iden Site With A Cow Being Deployed

Not sure if this COW is related to the Nextel & Sprint sites which are located on the utility tower and have a separate equipment shed. There are three pictures of this from different views.

Yea, most street view data is several years old. And yea, i saw the horse, lol.
      This site is confusing.

Odd how they have one random horse roaming around there and the area isn't sealed off. There's an open driveway gate which I walked in through so I don't know how they keep the horse from getting out.

"Site offline due to horse kick...dispatch tech"
    • larry
Haha yeah the Sprint tech who visits the site once a month can have a horse to pet while doing maintenance. :D
    • TelcomJunkie
      Visits once a month? Hahahahaha
    • larry
You mean they don't really do a monthly maintenance visit on each site? I was told they did.
    • Yankees368
Haha. Whoever told you that must be way off. Physical towers might get regular maintenance by the management company to do things such as cut grass, but there is no way a tech gets to every site every month. There are too many sites and not enough techs. Even if they did, what would they really do once a month? A site is either working, or its not.

I think the average cell site would be lucky to be visited twice a year unless it was having problems.

I usually see a Sprint truck/SUV at my local cell site about once a month. Maybe not quite that often. I can see the site from my house so it's easy for me to keep a watch on it.

Someone must enjoy the view... or it's having some sort of issues.

Could be. It's a nice place to hang out with the view of the city below. :D
