Sad Antenna Covers

T-Mobile's new I-5 Rest Stop sports a very poorly executed antenna cover system. Many, many more pine needles should have been placed in the covers.

      Welcome, Day!

This particular site is located just a few hundred feet above sea level, BUT...

It's at a CalTrans rest stop adjacent to USMC Camp Pendleton property in San Diego County. Lot's of very, very low flying Marine helicopters in the area for training missions.

thanks for the explination jonathan, i have a SBA tower in my town thats pretty high up on a hill with sprint, at&t, and nextel on it, its right next to an airport. i wonder why they dont put any red lights on it? should they? is it a law to have the red lights on towers close to airports? it makes sense to have them.

The issue of tower lighting is something that the FAA controls. They work with the FCC to ensure that the FCC licensees follow the FAA lighting and tower painting requirements. Tower lighting does depend on the distance from the air field, and direction from the runway, etc.
