Q-Tip Sprint Site with Red Flashing Light

Sprint's Q-Tip Monopine at the Cox Cable office in Irvine is adorned by a flashing red aircraft warning light (due to the proximity of this 'tree' from "DukePort" (you can figure that out for yourself).

It looks like a good 'bud' up on top. Where are Cheech and Chong?

I remember when this site was first built. But I'm sure it looked different originally.

I realize that most sites in California have to be camouflaged but they should've at least made an exception and built a small monopole. That looks a little rediculous, ha ha.

Der: This site has been up for a number of years. It's amusing, to be sure, and it's unlikely that this design in that setting would be approved today. Yet, at the time it went it, it may have been the best available.

The on-air date is listed as 9/15/2000. This is a time period when these trees were first starting to show up so I think this was actually not bad for 9 years ago.
