Old and New Double Decker London Buses

December, 2005 saw the end of virtually all old style double decker buses in London. They were difficult for families and the handicapped. A few old buses do remain in service, primarily for tourists. Here's a shot of two worlds, old and new.

Very nice, I loved the old Routemasters since you could just hop on and hop off the bus when it stopped at a traffic light or at a stop sign.

The new buses are largely Volvo creations. There are apparently several vendors, but the Volvo buses are the nicest from a design standpoint. The new bus, above, looks like they copied the lower cabin design and pasted it right above. Not like the old Routemasters.
