Good catch! In google's pic, you can see the stub of where it ends, and in mine, you see the extension. Great catch!

I believe I was in North Bergen for 4 days a couple of years ago. I don't remember if my hotel was anywhere near this one.

I bet this tower has a real short range, and is just mostly for the highway traffic.

I just remembered I took a picture of this same tower back on 2-16-2009 on one of my trips up there.
I never posted it because it wasn't a good pic,
but it's cool to note that a '"Tower Dog" was installing antennas on the lowest level.
