Cingular's got panels at the top. Verizon Wireless has two sectors about halfway up the tower. I spent some time gazing up at them, and I realized they (Verizon) actually put some thought into this setup. One of the sectors sort of faces northeast, and it's angled and elevated such that anyone driving on the interstate would do a seamless handoff about a mile north of the tower where there is somewhat of a crest going into Utah Valley. From there, users switch to the tower in Payson, the southern-most site in Utah equipped with 1xEV-DO. Sprint has just one lonely panel and one sector here (too low to be visible). It faces southward down the interstate. FWIW, this is the only site I've come across in the area where Cingular's equpment is simply on a pad. It's just a couple of those tall grey boxes that look like outhouses. Sprint's also got its [minimal] equpment on a pad. VZW's got a full-fledged shelter with a back-up generator ready to go. Picture was taken on my Motorola Q. I would have liked to take better pictures, but there were gunshots coming from around a bend...that's when I realized Warren Jeffs had been arrested the night before, and the community by this tower is known to be a polygamist village. So I made my way back out to the highway without delay.
