This is in the City of Orange. SCE just installed the brackets and the rest of the site should start construction soon.

The one thing puzzling thing about this one is that it only has room for 2 panels per sector. Seems kind of odd that they could put both CDMA and IDEN on this one the way it is right now.

Ok well I found out some bad news today. This site apparently is for Metro PCS and not Sprint. :( Too bad because both Sprint and Nextel could have really used a site here. I believe they still have one planned at or close by this location but this would have been the ideal place for them. So I have updated the image details to reflect my new findings.

Sorry Larry, I know you're heartbroken now :(

Yeah I've been bummed out about it all day. I really wanted this one badly. I felt a little better when I found out later in the day, the good news about Sprint finally having coverage in Bishop. :)

It's so weird because I saw they had a planned site in the same location with the cascade #'s and everything. So when I saw not one but two new sites going up there I would have bet the house that one of them was for Sprint. But I guess every carrier had the same idea at the same time to use those power poles???

It would have been surprising to have you take pictures of towers for a carrier other than Sprint, larry. ;)
    • larry
Yeah, almost as surprising as Meatchicken posting a new tower release for someone other than Verizon. Or Jones posting a press release for someone other than Cingular. :D

I know. I am guilty of that myself...;)

Larry do you have any updates?
    • larry
Yes the Metro site has long been completed. I should take an updated picture. Also Sprint still has plans to build a site across the street from this one. They got the site approved by the city and all permits have been obtained. I drove by today and still no signs of construction. So hopefully soon.
