Large T-Mobile GSM/UMTS Site

This is a very unusual T-Mobile site. 3 sectorized antennas are located on the high tower which contains 3 GSM/UMTS antennas and multiple satellite/microwave telecom links.

As you can see from the well-known Deutsche Telekom symbol, the building is one of several Deutsche Telekom T-Com landline office/tech sites in Cologne. Here are some more closeups of the site:

Those panels seem mounted quite high for a capacity hungry area like cologne.

This is a very interesting picture, ShoresGuy.

I like the style of that building.

      Thanks for the pic. :)

Wow. I'm at a loss. I guess I'm just glad the days of building things like that are over. Just looking at it is giving me the DTs.

Yep, I don't think they'll be building any those structures for a while. Most of those are almost 20 to 30 years old.

Some of those towers/structures are quite a site to see. Isn't there one on top of the Zugspitze too? Maybe I should do some research ;)

as an add-on to what I posted earlier, Deutsche Telekom was started in 1990 when German reunification was in progress. In 1995, the Deutsche Bundespost partially privatized their telecommunications and banking divisions. The German government still holds a majority share in the Deutsche Post, Postbank and in Deutsche Telekom.

Cool, I wonder which provider was so clever to put a tower up there.
