Holy tower, batman! That actually looks like a real tree! We have come a long way in the past 5 years.

Also, why did vzw take down the old monopole and replace it? Don't see that everyday.

Impressive! J.K. does it once again!

Wow, so thats what they were doing there. The old tower was well hidden by the trees when traveling by on the freeway. This is the best tree design yet, nice.

Thanks for the kind words Der, and the comments Yank and 21.

Actually I didn't spot the tree either, but as these things go, I got a call from a senior staffer at the City of Oceanside who wanted to make sure I had a great photo of this new site. I now have about 20.

For the real background on this site, and how it morphed from a monopole to a euc, check out:

Very nice. I guess I should get used to that PDF if I want to get into that field, huh.

J.K.: Are you aware that another one of this exact type is going up along the 57 Freeway in Fullerton (between Nutwood & Yorba Linda) and is about 90% complete now? It's at an apartment complex. I was going to stop and take a pic when it was completed. I believe it might be T-Mobile.

      Thanks for the heads-up, Larry.
