Neat, can you actually see Italy from that building?
    • Andy
Well you can see parts of the lake(but there's a lot of mountains), and there's mountains blocking you from actually seeing Italy. You can receive intermittent signals from Italian carriers though.

I see, I might visit Lecco (on the Italian side) before the end of the year.
    • Gamer03
      Where is Lecco ShoresGuy?
    • ShoresGuy
Near the Italian-Swiss border on the Italian side of Lago Maggiore/Lugano.

      Cool.

      Thanks for the reply ShoresGuy.

Switzerland was an awesome country. I love the high mountains. I went to the top of Mount Titlis (http://www.raileurope.com/us/rail/passes/mount_titlis.htm) with my dad and sister (my mom is afraid of heights).
    • ShoresGuy
Cool, so you've gotten around to places where I haven't been yet :D
    • Andy
Do you have family or friends in Lecco, Shoresguy?
    • ShoresGuy
No, my best friend who is from Trieste has to go to Lecco for a series of critical leg and hip operations for close to 2 months. There aren't any special clinics which deal with his problem in the Trieste, Venice or Udine areas so he had to Milano every 6 months or so for his checkup (takes 5 hours just to get there).
    • Andy
Milano is a great city. I visited Milano last time I was in Europe and was amazed again. People over there drive like they don't have anything to lose, though, so be careful ;)
    • ShoresGuy
Yeah I know only too well what you mean. My friend's mom was very livid driving us from Venice to Trieste when I arrived the airport. It was just before 9 PM and she went "stronzo, caz(z)o" this and that whenever someone (including the truck drivers) cut her off.

I have a question, don't know if you can answer or not. When I took the ICE early on in 1994 it was nice and the interior was muted, not so bright. I took an Italian Eurostar and it was so bright inside, it gave me a headache. The lights were so bright and it was almost midnight. Is this common on the Eurostar?
