      No kidding! I have equipment co-located on the Cingular monopole and the drop had happened about 10 minutes before I coincidentally showed up. On the way down the antenna broke some side marker lamps, chewed up a piece of 7/8" heliax, and then broke a piece of conduit going to a generator. I never have seen so many supervisors and safety folks show up so quickly.

      It was an old antenna that was probably heading to the trash anyway. They were getting ready to lower it down and the knot slipped. They were replacing all antennas with 850/1900 quad port antennas to prepare for UMTS.

      Crazy. I have seen a tower crew drop a 400 foot feedline that busted up alot of stuff on the way down.

      I saw over a 100' of 1-5/8 come undone from the rope and fall down once. I don't think I have ever run so fast in the opposite direction in my life!

      wasnt me taking the panel down, was a tower crew taking it down for AT&T on a tower we have some equipment on.
