Network Engineer w/ Wireless Experience - Arlington, VA Serve as a member of network, server, desktop and wireless team. Revamp wireless policy documentation. Responsible for server integration, deployment activities on new and existing wireless networking systems. Implement and monitor the technical operation, specifications and administration of wireless network. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and outages for both wired and wireless TCP/IP network. Work with the customers to provide guidance for securing wireless 802.11 LANs, network penetration, handheld devices, server operation, laptops, Blackberries, Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs). Duties: Patch and update 1 Linux server. Network support, creation of scope, statement of work (SOW), estimates, etc. Review and assess designs for wired and wireless networks deployed within our customer's spaces. Be able to, through testing, identify technical risks and propose risk mitigation and design alternatives for networking Review and assess designs and testing plans as required. Also integrating in full range of consulting capabilities Installing, configuring, upgrading and troubleshooting Windows 2003 Server OS's along with patches and updates Working with Active Directory in an enterprise environment Installation and configuration of server-based applications and utilities including patches and upgrades specifically, Symantec/Norton Antivirus software (SAV) Pushing antivirus software updates out from the servers to the desktops Managing Security Policies Extensive knowledge of WINS, DNS, and DHCP General server hardware knowledge with the ability to build, upgrade, install, and troubleshoot enterprise level, rack mounted servers i.e. HP ProLiant GL360, GL380 Monitoring and supporting server performance Managing and supporting local Exchange servers Act as a network engineer on multiple projects across all phases including architecture reviews, analysis, planning, design, testing, production rollout and ongoing support. Provide timely reporting of completed projects/milestones Work with client and other engineers to help assure that work being performed is kept within scope of project.
