    Default Asus PadPhone

Hi all, by now I suppose you've all heard about the new Asus PadPhone that was announced at the MWC. No news on whether it will come to USA, but if it does, would you buy it? At first I said yes, but then I began to think that means that the life of tablet will only be equal to the life of the phone--the moment I upgrade my phone, the pad is useless. I don't know about you, but I would expect to keep a tablet a bit longer than my phone. what do you think? Most people upgrade their phone once every 2 to 3 years. Although I do not as yet have a tablet, when I get one, I would expect at minimum 4 to 5 years service from it.

If you got a new phone, couldn't you still use the phone/table with wifi only?

    Hello,

    Interesting point you raise.

Given the 'interest' being taken in this device by GOOGLE ... it would be essential for them (if they adopt it) to establish a connection method for the smallest component - the phone - that will become, in effect, an INDUSTRY STANDARD.

Imagine that the docking space in the lid of the ASUS SLATE were made capable of housing almost any 'up to 7" consumer device' - even with some form of cable to make the necessary connections inside the docking 'port'.

Personally, my own plans to migrate from my DELL Streak 5 to a SAMSUNG Galaxy Note would then be accommodated on the ASUS SLATE - and my plans would be met for several years ahead.

Come on GOOGLE ... do it please ???

Imagine how many users with the whole universe of 'PHONE devices' who would like to buy the SLATE component of this ASUS/GOOGLE device (and the KEYBOARD) - and plug their existing, contracted, device into it - as and when the time came for them to upgrade.?

I'm pretty sure that GOOGLE will not have overlooked that possibility !!
