TORONTO — Data & Audio Visual Enterprises Wireless Inc. said Wednesday it has signed a licensing agreement with Bell Mobility to allow the new wireless service provider to use Bell cell sites for its equipment. Under the deal, DAVE Wireless will be able to negotiate the placement of its own wireless equipment on Bell Mobility cell sites, where space is available. Bell Mobility has thousands of cell sites across Canada, with digital coverage reaching more than 93 per cent of Canadians. DAVE Wireless is one of several new players that are gearing up to compete against established wireless carriers Rogers, Telus and BCE Inc.'s Bell Mobility unit. The company plans to sell wireless communications services in cities across Canada starting next year, including Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Ottawa. The Toronto-based company is owned by Obelysk, a diversified Canadian holding company, and Quadrangle Capital Partners, a global investor in the telecommunications and media sectors.
