XOHM is only officially launched in Baltimore, but it has been found to be active in Philadelphia, Chicago, and Dallas as well. The problem is that Sprint XOHM won't let you activate your WiMAX device unless you're in the officially covered area... but there is a workaround:

Activate XOHM Device Outside Baltimore

Radios, cell phone waves, wireless home phones, satellite and tv waves, microwaves, solar radiation, wifi, now wimax? We're gonna either die of constant exposure to waves or our brains will evolve that we'll be able to hear and make calls and watch tv when we close our eyes....haha that would awesome!! except it'll keep me up at night.

Ok, on a serious note, this Wimax is without doubt a very exceptional technological venture. I'm a little disappointed with the distance it covers (10km, about 4mile radius?), i mean, that's like, a block, but at the same time I expect more powerfull transmitters, as well as more transmitters, or whatever they're using, will be placed throughout the country and even the world. And the article was right, that will help people in the outer areas when it gets there. My uncle lives in a town that STILL can't access DSL, he still uses dial up without choice! Good job Sprint! Finally moving up, first with that customer service award (which everyone knows it didn't deserve for the last couple of years till now)
