Inmarsat Completes Gobal Wireless Broadband

Inmarsat has completed its broadband satellite network with the launch of the third Inmarsat-4 satellite. Inmarsat has invested $1.5bn over the past 10 years creating the network, which it says will be accessible to 98% of the world's population. The satellite was launched on a Proton Breeze M rocket from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 11.43pm BST on 18 August.

Nice! This is awesome, they have virtually all the globe covered. Should be good for people who travel a lot and need a internet connection no matter where they are. Wonder what the speeds and latency would be with this. Hope not as bad as the US based satellite companies.
