In the first half-month of Washington's new ban on handheld cellphones, State Patrol troopers stopped nearly 300 drivers, ticketing 113. An untold number of others ditched their phones as fast as possible when police vehicles approached. Local News | Cellphone crackdown: 113 tickets and counting | Seattle Times Newspaper |

hmmm...Yeah, they should just stop people that are causing the real problems....like speeding or driving recklessly. Pulling over people and ticketing for using a cell phone....ridiculous. Might as well ticket them for listening to or changing the station on their radio....at least in WA it doesn't seem to be a primary infraction.

| Regardless of what the police and nimrods in Olympia say, its because they want money. They see this law as a potential cash cow like they did with that 'click it or ticket it' crap regarding seatbelts.
