Today very few bids are being placed today, and on round 76 only one bid was placed to keep the auction going. When there is 1 round without any bids the auction is over. |

Great... I can't believe SPCS isn't a high bidder on something in Atlanta. Aren't they maxed out in that market? Is there any spectrum up for grabs in that market?

I'm surprised they didn't use the "Buy Now". Or maybe Sprint is waiting until the last minute when there's like 5 seconds left so no one has a chance to outbid them.

Auction Closed Feb 15 2005 9:19AM There were no bids, withdrawals, or proactive activity rule waivers in Round 91. Therefore, the Broadband PCS Auction has closed under the simultaneous stopping rule. We will release a Public Notice within the next few days that will provide official notification to the winning bidders, specify the deadline for payments and long form filing, and provide details for other post-auction procedures. This Public Notice will be mailed overnight to all bidders and should be reviewed to determine their post-auction obligations. Additionally, this Public Notice will be posted on the Commission's Auctions website at http://wireless.fcc.gov/auctions. In the meantime, we suggest bidders review the "Post-Auction Procedures" section in the "Auction No. 58 Procedures Public Notice" (DA 04-3005) released September 16, 2004. Thank you, FCC Auctions and Spectrum Access Division |

b) SPCS is not maxed out...they have 20 MHz and are doing fine capacity-wise (right now VZW is the one around here who's deteriorating in a bad way -- VZW still has plenty of spectrum but seems to be in desperate need of more radios. It's one of the reasons I left VZW to Get Even More with TMO More than likely if SPCS gets any more spectrum here it'll be from Metro PCS, who has far more than they need. BTW, the final results are listed here: http://wireless.fcc.gov/auctions/58/charts/58cls2.pdf I could use some help with the company names...I know that Cellco Partnership = VZW Vista PCS = VZW (per http://money.cnn.com/2005/02/15/technology/fcc.reut/ ) Alaska Native = Cingular Cook Inlet/VS = TMO Royal Street = Metro PCS NE Colorado = Viaero Nsighttel = Cellcom Lafayette = Cingular (I think) but who are the other companies associated with? Did SPCS sit this out completely? Any help would be appreciated! -SC

Edge Mobile = Cingular Wireless Wirefree Partners = Sprint PCS I thought Lafayette was SunCom (Triton PCS) but I could be wrong. For some reason I'm also thinking that Alaska native isn't Cingular but I'm not sure. | |

Now I am waiting for Nextel to come out and file a complaint to protest because Verizon got so many licenses.
