Sprint Makes iDEN - CDMA Walkie Talkie Call Yesterday, 4:51 PM source: Sprint Sprint last week completed its first successful walkie talkie call between an iDEN and a CDMA phone. A spokeswoman has confirmed that test was an important advancement in Sprint's efforts to launch walkie talkie service using its Revision A CDMA network. The carrier intends to launch a service that both works like and is compatible with iDEN walkie talkie servies over its mobile broadband network in 2008.

Images: 293 | I don't think it will ever die, but I would like it to take a nap like YourDaddy said till it's up & working fully. You don't hear about it anymore from AT&T or Verizon, just not worth paying extra for. |

| From what I hear is that AT&T is doing a silent campaign to the corporate clients and that PTT for them so far is on schedule. We all know that individual users will not fall for PTT and we have seen its downfall with VZW. I will not expect PTT to be a consumer driven item at all by any of the providers especially with M2M being there.

I agree I don't see it being a big thing for the average consumer, with M2M & SMS being the bigger item for users. Maybe when these corp. users start deciding to have it for their families it may grow like Nextel, but who knows. | |
