Default Microsoft's IPhone?

I would get this one before Apple's Iphone, simply because it has 3G, and runs Windows Mobile. Lots more applications available for it! Plus, it has better screen, more capacity, and its cheaper!

MiniOne, the telephone by Meizu

The MiniOne is a GSM+EDGE+WCDMA cellphone using Windows CE 6 and equipped with an ARM11 533MHZ (SamSung) processor sporting 128MB of DDR SDRAM !
It features a TFT Touch Screen (16M colors) with a nice 720x480 resolution and 2 cameras (front 0.3Mpix/rear 3Mpix).
Other goodies include BlueTooth, Wifi, DMB Tuner, GPS, video output (last 2 in option), files such as Avi, Mpeg4 and Wmv can be played in 720x480. Last but not least the capacity goes from 4 ( to 16GB and the price from 190 (240) to 330€, that is from 260 (325) to 450$.

Perhaps, but just like the "Windows has more apps than the Mac" argument, are those applications that you really want? How well do they work together? Apple's claim to fame has always been that they provide an operating system and basic set applications that have been developed to work well together. Especially in a handheld device, I would guess that that's what most people really want.

As for the better screen, memory, etc, ultimately hardware is cheap, R&D is expensive. There will always be companies who can make a cheaper knockoff that looks pretty in promotional pictures. The iPhone is expensive, no doubt. I'll bet that Apple's R&D costs in developing the new touch interface are part of that. If it works well, the iPhone may be worth the price premium. Remains to be seen.

Well, if there are more apps, then there are better chances there is something I want. It's logical. Plus, I already know several apps I could use, that only run on Windows Mobile, namely VoIP apps that enable the phone to be used over WiFi without using my minutes, plus a couple of other Windows Mobile apps that are specific to my job that will enable me to do remote device management and monitoring. There are many others to be listed here.

And there is no question on how well they work together. This is something I've already tested in other Windows Mobile PDAs.

Bobolito, you are a techie. You can handle any amount of finding and downloading apps, learning their ins and outs, and fiddling with them to make them work the way you want. But most people can't do this on their PCs and don't want to do this on their phones. I wasn't saying that you shouldn't buy whatever works best for you. I was saying that if history is any guide, Apple will come out with a well integrated, easy to use product that most people will be able to use for everything they need, without adding lots of apps.

Now they have not done this with a phone before, this phone has a radically new UI, and of course some of us still remember the Newton, so there is still room for doubt. We only have to wait a few weeks to see, though.
