A Mobile Phone for your Pets On4 Communications has been showing off a mobile phone for dogs. The PetsCell is currently being demonstrated to major corporations across North America prior to release to the general public. With the A-GPS tracking module contained in the PetsCell certified by many tier one and tier two telecoms worldwide, the company has assembled all components of the device and the PetsCell is now ready for final commercial production. Cameron Robb, CEO and Co-founder of Petsmobility, states, "Our entire team is extremely pleased to have achieved final production units of this unique and functional device which will provide pet owners with the world's first accurate GPS tracking and voice communication tracking solution optimized for pets." Cameron further adds, "The industry has long awaited an effective tracking solution for lost pets and I believe the PetsCell provides the solution. The ability to speak directly with the person who finds your pet is very comforting." The PETsCELL, is a waterproof, 2-way communication device (2 way speaker/2 way microphone) with Global Positioning Capabilities that provides the pet's location in real time through a desk top PC or hand held device complete with email notification services. The device allows for pet owners to set a geo-fence boundary that will alert the owner when their pet steps outside the pre-set boundary. www.cellular-news.com/story/22080.php |

My friend can probably put it to a good use -- his dog likes to find a way to explore new places...

Now I would like to know, why a 2 way comunication? have they found a way where a dog can call another dog? or is the dog going to tell his owner that he is OK?

LOL! Why 2-way? because this way, if the dog gets lost, whoever finds it can press a button and talk to the owner.

WHat would be next, a program to interpert the pets bark (or what ever) so humans and pets can understand each other and have a tele converstaion! OK, just kidding. I know that they do have now some chips implanted into pets to locate them as well as having all the owner info on them, so if one finds a pet and reports it then the agency can read the chip and contact teh owner. Another thing for the providers to make moeny on.
