Millions in Network Enhancement Initiatives Pay Off in Southern Ohio Thursday September 23, 9:45 am ET Cingular Wireless Adds 56 New Cell Sites to Network; 24 Southern Ohio Counties to Benefit COLUMBUS, Ohio, Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Cingular Wireless announced that it plans to activate 56 new cell sites by year's end in Southern Ohio, significantly enhancing service for residents and travelers throughout the area. These enhancements are part of a one-year $12 million network investment in Southern Ohio that will further enhance Cingular's GSM network in the region thereby improving call quality, adding capacity and extending the network's reach. "Cingular continues to go beyond the big cities and Interstates to provide our customers with an advanced network that gives them the ability to make a call when they want and where they want," said Tony Schrader, Director of Sales for Cingular Wireless - Southern Ohio. "Cingular is committed to making its great network even better with ongoing network enhancements that allow us to grow and expand with the communities we serve." The 21 sites activated so far this year enhance service in the following areas: Warren County - Enhanced coverage in downtown Lebanon. Clermont County - Enhanced coverage in the town of Felicity; enhanced coverage along Route 50 and the town of Owensville. Grant County - Enhanced coverage along I-75 between Crittenden and Sherman, Kentucky. Franklin County - Enhanced coverage in and around Rickenbacker Airforce Base; enhanced coverage in Lockbourne; Enhanced service in and around Sawmill Road and Route 161; enhanced coverage in Don Scott Airport. Miami County - Enhanced coverage along I-75; enhanced coverage in and around Dayton International Airport; enhanced coverage in South Tipp City Hamilton County - Enhanced coverage along I-74; enhanced coverage in West Harrison, Indiana and Harrison, Ohio; enhanced coverage in Grosbeck; enhanced coverage along Route 126 and Route 27; enhanced coverage in Dunlap. Boone County - Enhanced coverage along I-71; enhanced coverage in the town of Verona, Kentucky. Darke County - Enhanced coverage along Route 127; enhanced coverage in and around the towns of Greenville and Wakefield. Pendelton County - Enhanced coverage in the town of Butler; enhanced coverage along Route 127. Delaware County - Enhanced coverage along Route 23 and Powell Road. Logan County - Enhanced coverage in the town of Zanefield; enhanced coverage in and around Bellefontaine; enhanced coverage along Route 68 and Route 47. Butler County - Enhanced coverage in Middletown; enhanced coverage along I-75. Clark County - Enhanced coverage along I-70 and Route 40; enhanced coverage in the Springfield Mall; enhanced coverage along Route 68 and Route 41. There are a couple of reasons i like these post's, I see how much Cingular is building there network in the country & know with the merger how much better coverage will get & How much i would like to see AT&T do the same announcments to show how much they have been doing to improve coverage for us AT&T customers. (Not that it will matter too much longer, just wish they had done the same thing)
