Probably a smart move since Cingular doesn't seem that they will launch PTT anytime soon.

If the launch is anything like the Verizon launch, I think the biggest surprise will be for Cingular....

Default ATT Puts PTT on Hold
I am glad they decided to hold off using PTT, I personally didn't plan on getting it since i have the unlimited M2M, and i don't know if it would have been better or worst then Verizon's. As far as Cingular going for it, if/when they merge with AT&T that may be one reason they didn't decide to go with it, and hopefully it will be better system then Verizon's.

It will do well as long as they do it over voice channels not data. Everyone agrees that Verizon's stinks is because the latency caused from using 1x data for voice kills it....PTT doesn't necessairly have to suck with anyone but Nextel...
