Good for frequent or infrequent travellers. Also good for people in Buffalo, Detroit, and other border towns I bet. Switch to that plan before your trip to Canada, switch back to your old one when you get home.

Nextel did this a month or so ago. Its quite different than what verizon has done. Nextel operates in Mexico as well as teh US, and simply added cross border functionality... Verizon just added Canedian and Mexican CDMA carriers to the EN.

I just hope they offer this to the general consumer here in Michigan soon. Its an awesome plan. I dont even think rates are bad for this kind of service. I would however like to see either unlimited N&W or some mobile-mobile.

Does anyone know when Verizon's website will have the North America's Choice map up and running on their site? I am interested in seeing the new Mexico and Canada coverage. Thanks Gamer

ATT already offers Canada for an extra $10/mo on their plans. 550min for $50 or 400min for $60? 950min for $70 ro 800min for $80? Granted, Verizon gives you Mexico and ATT doesn't. |

Also... correct me if I'm wrong but CDMA is the prominent technology in Canada...

CDMA and AMPS probably. They might have TDMA & AMPS or just AMPS in the places where the population is 'not as good' (forbidden word removed).

There is still a good bit of TDMA coverage. Most is being converted to GSM on the Rogers/ATT network... CDMA service is provided by telos and bell mobility mostly.

I notice T-Mobile's maps now show Rogers coverage. I wonder when that happened... I was in the Maritimes in June and had to get a Rogers SIM.

CDMA coverage in Canada is excellent -- and as mentioned above, its provided mainly by Telus and Bell Mobility. This is an excellent plan (for business travelers too) and we'll have to see how good the coverage in Mexico is. I'll probably eyeball this plan soon down the road as I have been all over North America including Alaska and Puerto Rico. This is a great plan for those who hop around and do something like visiting Canada for a week's camping excursion in British Columbia, visit a summer festival in Montreal, hit the Calgary Stampede fest, attend a conference in Toronto, relax during a week's stay in a resort in Los Cabos/Mexico, get wild down'n dirty in Cancun, attend a business meeting at the Hilton in the heart of Mexico city. Yes, it's called NAFTA -- North American Free Trade Agreement. LOL! We're gonna see more of the Verizon wireless guy in an Eskimo suit in Yellowknife/Yukon saying "Can u hear me now?" and also in Spanish in the street markets of Guadalajarra (sp?). |

Does anyone know where I can find the coverage map for North America's Choice? If someone could post a link with the North America's Choice map with the improved Canada and Mexico, I would greatly appeciate it. Thanks. Gamer

The maps haven't been posted yet, but you can look for CDMA coverage at http://www.cellular-news.com/coverage/. Look under Mexico, the US and Canada.

You won't see this plan available yet throughout the country. So if you wanna see a sneak preview of the coverage map then go to www.verizonwireless.com, select "Plans" then "Overview" -- use a Californian zipcode such as 90210. From there you will see the North American Plan option (select it) and then you can get a glimpse of the coverage map. Now Mexico's coverage looks quite empty but I'm sure the major urban and metropolitan cities are covered. |

Thanks, Kenster for the information. I appreciate it. Kenster, do you think that they will eventually lower the price plan fee to $39.99/month, with unlimited n&w's. If they did that, I would definitely sign up for that, but IMO, I don't see that happening for a least 1-2 years. Just my two cents. Gamer
