Default Report Finds Subscribers Likely to Switch Carriers for Better Service

A recent J.D. Power and Associates report found that cell phone users are nearly four times more likely to switch service providers, resulting in the carrier community potentially losing their portion of the multibillion dollar revenue opportunity. The report, conducted to 16,800 wireless users, found that ALLTEL and Sprint PCS fell below the average threshold for quality customer care, while the other nationwide major wireless carriers scored high in the area. J.D. Powers says carriers might want to consider calling their subscribers to apologize, as the cost of acquiring new customers falls between $300 and $425, so the ability to retain customers is crucial in the wireless industry. What he's trying to say is that this topic has been floating around the usenet forum for a while now. Phillipe is a troll on usenet.

In other news, the sun rose in the East today.

It seems like a Blinding Flash of the Obvious. Cell phone carriers are so slimy in most people's opinion that they avoid relationships with them. No relationship, no trust. No trust, no loyalty. It's first-semester MBA.

$300 - $425 to aquire a customer and then you treat them like crap.
It is an ingenious idea from the wireless industry to spend so much money trying to get a customer in the hopes that they will become profitable customers, and then losing them to someone else because you treat them like s***.
I'm not even an employee of the wireless industry and already know better than the $2 million/year people that work for them.
