The agreement also provides Cincinnati Bell Wireless customers with access to AT&T Wireless' national GSM/GPRS network. Cincinnati Bell expects to have its GSM/GPRS network operational by the fourth quarter of 2003, at which point AT&T Wireless' next generation wireless customers will be able to roam seamlessly on the new network covering 2.2 million people. Once Cincinnati Bell launches GSM/GPRS service, customers signing up for the service will have immediate access to AT&T Wireless' extensive national network. "Development and deployment of our next generation network is a critical next-step in the evolution of our business," said Mike Vanderwoude, vice president of new business development for Cincinnati Bell. "Establishing GSM/GPRS service in our home market is the first step in keeping our customers at the front of the technology curve. Immediate access to AT&T Wireless' nationwide advanced network provided by this roaming agreement adds significant horsepower to the value proposition we are able to take to our customers as the new network comes on line." "Dayton and Cincinnati are important metropolitan markets for us," said Robert Stokes, Senior Vice President - Business Development, AT&T Wireless. "Cincinnati Bell's network will be a valuable addition to the nation's overall GSM/GPRS coverage map. |
