Default Alamosa holdings sues Sprint

http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/050808/alamo...xtel.html?.v=1

NEW YORK (AP) -- Sprint Corp. was thrown another legal challenge Monday when its largest wireless affiliate alleged the $70 billion acquisition of Nextel Communications Inc. will breach contract agreements.

Alamosa Holdings Inc., which operates AirGate PCS in the central and western United States, said Sprint's takeover of Nextel will damage exclusivity covenants between the two companies. Alamosa provides phone service within Sprint's digital PCS network.

I can see their reasons why they want to sue, but they still seem a bit pesty nonetheless similar to Qwest when it fought Verizon for MCI.

Leave Sprint alone and let them finalize their merger.

don't you wish you could be like these big companies and just file a suit for not much reason at all.

This is just stupid. It's not going to stop the merger.

I agree. How on Earth is this deal going to be stopped after the feds already approved it? Alamosa is just a bit too late if you ask me.

Guess they wanted to join the bandwagon after the fact, to see how much they can get out of Sprint. Either that or there lawyer is new out of school & forgot to file the paperwork in time.

The AP corrected that today. $70B is the vale of the combined company.
