Verizon Wireless has a date to lauch the network in Little Rock Sounds like it will be a good network onced lauched.

Coverage will also connect east along Interstate 40 to existing Verizon Wireless service in Memphis.

"This is just the first step as we work to bring Verizon Wireless products and services to the entire state of Arkansas."

Verizon Wireless also announced this week that it has completed the purchase, initially announced in March, of certain spectrum licenses and operating assets from Leap Wireless International, Inc. for $102.5 million. This purchase includes the licenses to offer service in the Fayetteville, Russellville and Fort Smith areas, as well as additional spectrum in Little Rock that will be used to expand capacity for voice and data services.

On a side note VZW will have 15 MHz C block in Little Rock the other half is retained by Cricket.

So I guess Verizon is planning on, eventually, covering most of Arkansas natively from the quote?
I wonder how well they will be able to compete coming into this market so late, but I'm sure they will do just fine.

Since this is Alltel's home base, how would this affect the roaming agreement?

VZW has 65 MHz in NYC could they give 10 MHz to Alltel and co-locate on many towers to help them out

VZW is selling EXTREMLY well i NYC and will continue to do so. As a result ANBYTHING they can do to INCREASSE capacity they will do. Selling 10Mhz of spectrum in NYC ????? that buyer better have 10 Billion CASH to burn. Even then, that wiould be the low bid probably.

I don't think it's going to change anytime soon since ALLTEL still covers a LOT of areas the new Verizon system there will not cover for a long time.
