Default Silence Message

Hello, i heard about something that called "Silence Message". When someone sends that message to your phone, you dont hear and know that you receive the message.then the person who sends the message calls you and you dont know your phone is ringing and he hears everything you speak. It means your mobile phone can be used as a spy microphone.is that possible? anyone heard about it? and how can it be? if someone knows it i need more info about that silence message.thanx

The one that I heard about is the "Silent Ringer". It seems that teenagers can hear it, but adults cannot and the teenagers are using it in school to send and receive messages during class.

Never heard of it....but the only way that that might possibly happen is if you get hacked or a virus is on your cell phone. Even then it wouldn't be possible to do it very long because the minute you go to make a phone call the connection would be broken and they wouldn't be able to hear you. Maybe recording it then sending it through the data services while you speak? I don't know, but I've never heard of it before now. And I wouldn't be worried about it happening to you. Sorry don't have any info on it.....

I just proved them wrong, at least in my case.

I found the teen-mosquito file. It is 'supposed' to be in the right pitch so that adults cannot here it. I dl'd it and put it on my phone. I can hear it.

It sounds just like a mosquito, hence the name, teen-mosquito.

I tested it on others. I only found one other person, out of the 6 that I tested, that could hear it.

This has been discussed previously. (Students Find Ring Tone Adults Can't Hear)

As far as the OP's question, this story has an urban legend quality, IMHO. As strunke said, it's difficult to imagine how it might work. Without more evidence, I'd assume it's a myth. Sometimes googling a few choice words in a given legend brings up all manner of debunking sites. Haven't tried it with this one.

Yeah i could hear it also, it's less common for adults to hear it but not impossible.
