Need some advice on a matter... For the most part, mobile browsers like Blazer and Opera satisfy my needs for my internet usage when I'm away from home. I use them to look up quick things such as email, facebook, wikipedia, this site Then there is the other 5% of my usage. From time to time I'll need to view/download an attachment off of e-mail, download files (less than 1MB), or access sites that mobile browsers just can't open. Normally I have to wait until I get home, but recently I've been exploring the world of PAM with my laptop. Problems with PAM: 1. I'm on SERO. Sprint says that I cannot add PAM onto SERO. Period. I really don't believe them... but this is what they tell me. I'm sure someone out there knows how to get it done. 2. I've been advised that it requires a contract and would cost at least $40 per month. Honestly, It's just not worth it for me and what I need it for. I would be willing to pay $10. Maybe $20. But 40? For something I really wouldn't use that much... not worth it. So I've explored around the internet and have discovered PDAnet. I've been able to tether my Centro to my computer and it works perfectly. I get excellent connection speeds and have been able to do everything I've wanted to do. This really looks like the perfect solution to all of my problems. It's such a good thing... How long will this last for me and will I get noticed? I normally use about 20MB of data on my Centro every month through mobile browsers, e-mail, music, etc. I anticipate that I will probably use about 100MB of tethered data. I feel like 100MB is just a drop in the bucket for Sprint and I'm flying way under their radar. Do you all think that Sprint will notice/even care about that much data usage? Will I be relatively safe doing what I'm doing? I completely understand why they would terminate people for tearing through Gigs of data every month without paying for it... But I'm just using it to do a few simple tasks... |

They really shouldn't do anything because you are using it for legitimate use. I do the same thing, I tether with my Razr on AT&T and I have the unlimited internet but just recently started tethering. As long as you don't go to close to the cap. I think its 5 GB like AT&T's, you should be fine. I know last month I downloaded/uploaded around 2 GBs of data and AT&T didn't say anything. I don't know if Sprint's like AT&T where they have different IDs for the MediaNet and the PDA plans. I would say just don't get to close to the cap and you should be fine.
