So after all this time and effort of researching and finding out what I wanted, my BDA finally arrived and has been installed here at my office. These photos are of the unit on the roof that takes in the Cingular signal: closeup installed on roof, flush with rooftop the very messy install on the inside of the building and into the wall to be continued on the next post |

The top of the ladder (24 feet) is where the cable comes into the building The unit install and testing phase to make sure it worked... The unit itself that amplifies the signal that the outside antenna pulls into the offices The final product, showing the item penetrating the drop ceiling in my office! Thought you all might be interested to see this. I am so excited to have service in and around my offices now! It was all thanks to this product from cellantenna.com. They have great stuff! |

NICE...How much time and money was involved in the install? I'm sure the Cingular network engineers are going to come looking for an unlicensed repeater.... Funny thing about repeaters, they are legal to sell, but illegal to operate. If the carriers could keep the attorneys out of the equation, we probably would have seen repeater "in a box" available at corporate stores years ago. |

The carriers will probably never know about it or care, unless for some reason it causes interference. I've seen them track down a set of rabbit ears on a TV set before.... I wish I had the money to do the same thing in my house...I have pretty good coverage except for peak times It gets a little choppy inside. I would love to have a spotwave repeater... | |

I thought about getting that at for my last job, and home. Now my new place and job have excellent coverage, maybe too good, I get calls all of the time the server room. I should remember to take the phone off more often.

azcellphonejunkie, Interesting setup you got going there. Im impressed at your antenna placement on both the roof and ceiling inside. The panel resting on the roof facing straight in the air is an interesting concept. We usually recommend that it face directly towards the cellphone tower. The way you have it keeps it very aesthetically pleasing for those buildings which might not allow a roof mounted antenna. Your indoor BDA and antenna setup is excellent! Most of our customers find placing it on the desk or hanging it on the wall works just aswell, yours is more professional looking. Glad you are enjoying the system!! -Jon |

Thanks for your nice comments. I actually don't work at that office anymore, but the BDA is still there!

This was done at an office I used to work at and they did the same thing, mounted the external antenna flush on the roof -- the signal outside was fine but due to the building's being a fallout shelter it ate any signal trying to get in.

BDA's are great. I know there are some issues with them not being allowed by a service provider, but they really do a good job if the install is appropriate for the job.
