hey guys right now i am half way to prescott i am in baristow. so far from la mesa ca where i live the first hour full service with sprint verizon and cingular. second hour from lake elsinore 2 blommington service was eratic with cingular 1 to 5 bars didnt loose service thought. verizon was better at 3 to 5 bars. sprint was the best so far that really suprised me no lower then 2 bars 5 most of way. from victorville to just b4 barstow service was 1 to 5 bars mostly 1 to 2 with verizon and cingular sprint was was full service lol cingular was little better here. now i am at newberry springs almost 2 az boarder. sprint now is finally not better 1 bar verizon 2 bars same with cingular. ok i at prescott **** it cold and snowing lol from lodlow to az boarder **** verizon always had all 5 bars cingular had 3 to 5 sprint really sucked 0 to 1 bars got better at amboy on. now here is where it gets wired. from az boarder 2 half way to kingmon verizon no service then roamed. sprint no service cingular full service. then 2 prescott bad no service to began with all for 30 min then no problems. here full service with all. Sedona No probelms at all with any service... Overall Sprint was the Best on the Way up In CA but worst in AZ Verizon was Second best on way up Probaly best in AZ.. Cingular was good on way up still last, But Decent service in AZ, Just smaller cities Verizon and Sprint only covered... I also noticed on way up in between cities Sprint was Worst alot of no service but as soon as you got to a city then they were really good... I also saw alot of their cell towers lol...

I am surprised at your review. I live in the Prescott area and my Cingular phone and my old VM phone easily beat Verizon in many areas. Sprint has very good coverage here as well as in the middle of nowhere around the Mingus Mountains. Verizon has good coverage in the metro areas but not so well in areas like Dewey. After actually living here for 3 years Cingular and Sprint were the best from my experience. Verizon and Nextel are ok.

For some reason Kyocera has a bad reputation for RF but I didn't think they were all that bad when I had my 2255. Not the best but not the worst either.

I've heard the LG's are/were also better on the 800 Mhz band.

I don't remember hearing anything bad about Kyocera phones having bad RF, but the over all quailty of their phones wasn't very good. Plus back 3 or 4 years ago when Sprint carried a few Kyocera their network in many areas wasn't what it is now. So it may have been the network and not the phones.

| Cingular has good coverage in Northern AZ. I think they are the the best from Phoenix to Las Vegas too...That area has always been bad... |

Images: 14 | AZ, what was the date on the map? I am wondering if the coverage on 93 is Cingular's. When I went down to Phoenix in October I was roaming on Dobson on most of 93.

Cingular's maps don't do them justice in the West. On that map is shows no coverage west of Prescott but I got ok coverage when entering into the Willhoit/Skull Valley area. The coverage does eventually drop out completely, though. But in Prescott, Dewey, Prescott Valley, etc. I get very very good coverage. Not even Nextel or Verizon cover Dewey all that great. Sprint and Cingular do a great job. I even got full coverage at the HWY 169/I17 junction. Then the coverage stays all the way to Cottonwood from there (with some dead spots in the Verde Valley).
