I don't think I can be much help but Nextel seems to be good in the Inland Empire. Nextel and Sprint will be merging later this year.

Nextel works good in the IE. You will encounter dead spots up towards the mountains off of HWY 18 towards Big Bear and where it drops off on the other side close to Lucerne Valley. Far Southeastern SB County may be the only other hot spot. Stay close to the 215/10/60 FWY's and you should be good to go. Nextel works good along the 15 FWY north towards Victorville and practically all the way towards Vegas. Service does get weak if you go too far east or west off of Bear Valley Rd and the back ends of Hesperia by Oak Hills. If you plan on going off on a lot of the rural stretches off the freeways, stick with what you got or if you got the itch to switch, get a trimode phone from Sprint. Otherwise, Nextel should be a fine choice. http://nextelonline.nextel.com/NASAp...nk2;rate_plans

You can always try Nextel and return them if it doesn't work- if it does work, then port your Verizon number over to Nextel(if you don't wanna port then just cancel your VZW service, AFTER you know your Nextel service works well for you).
