I don't know where would be the best place to post this, but this post will cover a few topics. Tomorrow (Friday 3/11/2005) will be my last day with a Nextel phone. I am getting rid of my Blackberry because I am changing jobs. It has been a company phone for the last 5 months, and I am moving on to a new one, where my Cingular line will be my primary one. I have no plans to replace the phone. As much as I have loved the Blackberry, I will be happy to not be carrying 2 phones with me all the time. The Blackberry is a great device and I have had a lot of fun with it, but it is so big, that it can be combersome at times. My new job will be out of the wireless industry and back into shopping center management. I will be working up in the Glendale area and my office is underground in a back hallway. The only provider that works there is T-Mobile, and fortunately, Cingular allows me to roam for free on them. Verizon, Alltel, and Sprint go right to Analog roam down there. Cingular (AT&T) and Nextel are completely dead! The reason for this is that there is a BDA (Bi-Directional Amplifier) for T-Mobile on top of the building and it provides excellent coverage throughout the complex. I am happy to be a GSM user for this reason. We all know how annoying it can be to have a phone that doesn't work in your office! Please PM me if you have specific questions about the new position and what I am going to be doing. Sstrosberg and RH, I will have to get you my Cingular cell number as I know you both have my Nextel one... |

Images: 14 | AZ, good luck with your new job. At least you didn't have to pay the ETF on the Nextel line.

| AZ, Congratulations on the new job. Glad to hear Cingular works at your new work. My wife had the opposite issue at her old job she worked in an office with all cement block walls and T-Mobile and Cingular were very sketchy yet Verizon was full signal and fine. I will PM you. RH |

I have lived in Tempe, Chandler, Phoenix and Scottsdale since I got down here in 1998, and so I never thought I would be moving out West. Oh well, I am more than willing to do it for this job!

Congrats and good luck, I don't know if you're interested in mall history but there is a site from the East Coast which deals with dead malls: www.deadmalls.com

As for the 7100 Blackberry...I have thought about it, but my new job only reimburses $30 of your monthly cell phone bill. I know if I had a data plan on the account for the Blackberry, it wouldn't be covered. Also, they don't have a BES for Blackberries other than Verizon. The execs all have Verizon BB's, and I don't know if you can use a BES for multiple carriers. Anyway, when it's all said and done, I like the flip styling of my V600 very much, and it would be hard to have a BB for my only phone. Who knows though, I may feel differently in a few months!

A BB as my primary phone wouldn't be for me either, since it would be too big to carry around with you all the time, but that's just me, personally. I've actually gotten to the point where I leave my cellphone in the car a lot now, since it always goes off and I'm sometimes sick of carrying my phone around everywhere and being available everywhere.
