What about Sprint, or does Sprint already have good coverage in that area?

It's about time! I've lived in this area for over 10 years and the hills separating Diamond Bar and Chino Hills is also known as "Dead Man's Land" in terms of the reception. NO ONE gets reception in this area.

Do we know how far out this tower will reach?

Sprint does have coverage in this area from another site at a water tank about 3/4 mile away which overlooks the area fairly well. But of course it would have been nice to get on this site as well. Sprint WAS originally part of this new tower plan at Summitridge but ended up pulling out of the deal because it was going to be too expensive and I guess they felt it wasn't a 'must'. It is my understanding that the site was going to be IDEN only anyway so no big loss. lol

I would expect great range from this site. It is in an excellent spot with a good line of sight reach into Chino Hills.

Larry....do you know if the tower's signal will be strong enough to reach the Chino Blvd. dead spots as well? Would it also reach all the way down Grand Ave. through to the 71? The whole Grand Ave. east of DB Blvd. is spotty at best.

If you're lucky it will reach along Grand to about Chino Hills Pkwy. Otherwise expect the range to end at about Grand Avenue Park (Pleasant Hill Drive). It will not come close to reaching the 71.

Okay....well...this is better than nothing....not having ANY service through those hills is frustrating enough....I'll take what I can get.

Yeah that route is a tough one to cover. Sprint has a dead spot through there as well at Grand & Chino Hills Pkwy and I'm sure most if not all carriers do somewhere on that stretch. Any improvement at all there is something to be celebrated.

As of Friday the new tower has been up and running and I get three bars now compared to the "no signal" I got for the past three years. I can tell that this tower is not long-range because on Pantera Drive, there are no bars but just a 1X symbol. I live on Whitecliff Drive which is off Nan and Longview and I get reception all over! It's wonderful!
