Default Villa Park, Olive, Orange California Coverage

I have a friend who is going down to the Villa Park, Olive, and Orange area in California. He will be spending about 95% in the Villa park area. What is the coverage like with Sprint and Verizon. He has both of them and asked me today how things will be for him. I think he will be staying near orange park blvd. Thanks for your help.

That's not a good area for Sprint because of the NID border that runs through Villa Park and also affects part of Orange.

I've never experiences coverage issues with Verizon in this area. It's not full bars, but I've had good service. That's a pretty heavily populated area because of Anaheim's proximity, so your friend should be fine with Verizon there.

Well he is down there and I got a report of Verizon and Sprint in Villa Park. He said that where he is at Sprint is horrible calls not coming through and getting messages delayed. I told him about the NID border and how the can affect him. Still though I know his MDN and MIN are the same and I know that can help a little. Also On Verizon he said is great no problems whatso ever not perfect coverage but also no problems.

As far as Verizon goes, I'm not surprised. This has been my experience.

The calls not coming through is directly related to the NID border there. However I have not experienced any message delays as a result of NID bouncing in this area.

What in the world is an "NID border"?

It's where the network is divided up into different switches. So if you're phone ends up bouncing back and forth on two different network switches it makes it more difficult to be located by the paging channel to deliver an incoming call.

By the way even if your phone stays locked on one NID, if there happens to be PN offsets (tower sectors) of a different NID in it's neighbor list you can still miss incoming calls.
