Default Trying to help the parents

Hi all!

This area is out of my expertise, so I'm turning it over to you...

My parents have VZW. My mom uses the v120e and my dad has my v60i (he wanted to try out a flip phone). My mom doesn't use her phone often except for the N/W minutes and to call my sister. My dad used his phone more often for both pleasure (LD calls) and business. Their NE2 is coming up (Dec. 16??) and my mom wants to go in and get one of their "Buy 1 get up to 4 free" phones. I know they are all LGs, but I don't know much about the LGs as a prefer my a670.

Any feedback about my mom's decision? Should she forego the LG and get the Samsung instead? Positives? Negatives? Comments?

Thanks in advance!!!

I think they are both good phones, you mom will really like anything after the 120e, you dad might like the feel of the a670 a more solid feeling phone IMHO than the LGs. But the LGs are great deals for the money. They will be able to get the NE2 but not the buy 1 and get 4 for free unless they are adding lines. It might be worth it to use the ne2 for the a670, or a 7000.

Ironically, my mom LIKES the v120e!! Guess it just goes to show that you can't figure everyone...my husband and I couldn't wait to get rid of our v120c!! LOL

Anyway...I agree that the a670 would be a solid choice after the v60i (as that was my stepping stone too!). But what are the LGs like? I don't know anything about them...if I was comparing them to the a670s (which at least I have a handle on), how would they stack up?

I really like the LG VX4500. It's an incredible phone for the price. I don't want a camera phone -- we have to sign security waivers and it's a giant pain in the -- and so this does what I want, including a really well-featured voice-activation.

Thanks for the input...my parents aren't real techies, so I doubt they'd care about the camera phone. My dad might, as he likes his "toys," but if the vx4500 is decent, then that might be a good start...what is the ringtone volume and clarity like?

Wirelessly posted (Samsung i600: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE) Opera 7.60 [en])

The VX4500 has a loud ringer and a very loud and clear earpiece. The speakerphone is pretty good too.

Jodi the LG 4500 is a good phone for the price, just make sure you get one with the lastest software version (T45VZV04) version 02 had a few minor glitches nothing big, other than that i also recommended it, good luck...
PS if your mom wants a good solid little phone the LG 3200 (no display) or the lg 4600 (with outer display) might also be a good choice..

LG 4600, 4500, 3200

You're welcome...

As you already know the a670 is a good choice, another comparable one to the Samy is the LG 6100 (tri-mode w/camera)

LG 6100 VS A670

I love LG phones i have Verizon and Cingular and try not to get anything else. However with GSM they are not as good but thats another story.. For CDMA with Verizon i have had 2 different LG phones LG TM-510 and LG VX-10 both good phones... Clarity i notice is better on the phone its self then a motorola that has a slight buzzing sound IMO... Also LG Tech Support is GREAT.. Never had a probelm with them unlike Motorola. THe only thing bad is

LG phones= Better sound quality But reception isn't as good oh ya with these phones their was a MAJOR problem with Pixels dying on the external Caller ID, i heard they fixed the new ones so they don't do that anymore.. IMO

Motorola phones= Better reception, but voice quality not as good... IMO

Good luck!

P.S. get what Tony said I personally like the new LG6100

I dont know if you have looked into this or not but the Nokia 6015i has the same promotion. So just another option to look at.
