Sorry if this has been posted but I didn't find anything when I searched for this but..... People are complaining that Verizon's mobile-to-mobile minutes are used up BEFORE their nights and weekend minutes. For example, if I make a call at 9:30PM on a weekday to another Verizon user, then i will use up my 1000 mobile-to-mobile minutes instead of my free weekends and nights. Very shady by Verizon..... It's stated on Verizon's website that in order for Mobile-to-mobile minutes to be used you must not have your CALLER ID blocked. Has anyone tried to block their caller ID (pressing *67) before they called another verizon user on a night/weekend to avoid having their mobile-to-mobile minutes deducted? I haven't had a chance to test this out, since I just recently signed with Verizon..... It's just a trick I thought of and hopefully someone can verify this works or doesn't work.... |

Hmmmm.....maybe it only works on the receiving end. This is cut and pasted from Verizonwireless.com "Note: Caller ID information must be available for incoming calls to be rated as Mobile to Mobile minutes. You may not be able to block Caller ID when roaming in some markets or when calling certain toll-free numbers or 911." Maybe if I receive a call from a Verizon user who is call blocking their ID (during a night/weekend period) only the person who made the call will use up their mobile-to-mobile and not the receiver. |

This should not matter anymoore. Take a look in the southern U S forum at a thread titled "VZW changes March 1". Jayc seems to be a good source of info.

I think when it says "when caller id is available" is whether Verizon knows you're using m2m minutes and not yourself meaning you and the other party are both on Verizon's digital network (or at least you are when making the call). Whether you have a private number or not does not matter because Verizon still knows who is calling who and whether it is a m2m call or not. I hope I didnt confuse anyone. Ok im sorry for not cut and pasting the whole text. This is from the Features section of verizonwireless.com under the feature CALL BLOCK ID "Caller ID Blocking Prevent your name and wireless phone number from being transmitted with Caller ID Blocking. This can be accomplished two ways--on a per-call basis or continuously, at no extra charge. If you use continuous Caller ID Blocking, you also have the option to deactivate it on a per-call basis. Note: Caller ID information must be available for incoming calls to be rated as Mobile to Mobile minutes. You may not be able to block Caller ID when roaming in some markets or when calling certain toll-free numbers or 911." Isn't this saying that Caller ID must not be blocked in order for your mobile to mobile to take effect? Also I called Verizonwireless just now and the operator who wasn't sure (she had to check) said that mobile to mobile minutes still apply first over Nights and Weekends....(didn't sound to confident about this).... Anyone else get a confirmation that Nights and Weekends applies first over Mobile to Mobile? |

I called them here (I'm in the Northeast though), and Verizon said that on the Primary phone of a plan, Nights and Weekends are taken first before Mobile to Mobile. BUT, on your Secondary phone of a plan, like the second phone of a family share plan, Mobile to Mobile minutes are taken before Nights and Weekends. What she said concurs with the fine print of the America's Choice brochure too. I'm not sure what happens when only one phone is on a Verizon plan.

there is a new hierarchy for the way minutes are used now, you should be billed for n/w weekend before mob to mob now, this is effective march 1st 2003 hope this helps
