I am going to be visiting Salt Lake City for a seminar this weekend. I was wondering what type of coverage I could expect from Verizon Wireless while I'm visiting. I know their maps do indicate coverage there but I was wondering what the quality is and how far from the city it goes. Thanks.

I live in Layton UT, which is about 20 miles north of SLC. Verizon coverage is excellent in the SLC metro area, although I have had some problems in the Bountiful/Centerville area (which is about 6-10 mi North of SLC). So as long as you stay in SLC you should be fine.

Pilot, SLC is one of Verizon's highest-quality markets. The reason is that they really wanted to shine during the 2001 SLC Olympics. As a result, most of UT, as well as some surrounding areas, now have better service than some of Verizon's larger markets...like Denver! -Bill |

I have had great luck with VZW in Utah County, this is just south of SLC. Works well in the surronding area, such as Heber City, Park City, Tooele, Logan, etc.

Hi there, My wife and I live in Sandy, UT - about 16 miles due south of downtown Salt Lake City. We both work downtown. We have had Verizon for 4 years and are very pleased with the coverage in the Salt Lake Valley. Have noticed some weak signal spots in the Taylorsville area but have never had a call dropped while using my phone in that area. Enjoy your stay! |
