Default Phoenix Coverage--Sprint+Verizon

I have Verizon and have been very happy with their coverage in Phoenix. My father and I will be going back there for a weekend in March and I was wondering how Sprint is in the city? Another thing, we are spending a good part of a day out at the South Mountain Park/Preserve. How is the service there (on Verizon and/or Sprint)? I am supposing it would be spotty, but some Verizon should be there right? Thanks.

Default Phoenix Coverage--Sprint+Verizon

I usually visit Phoenix every year. I have not had any trouble with Sprint in at least the downtown area around the sports arenas. I also noticed the last time I drove out there (September 2002) I had a signal almost the entire route along the I-10 from Los Angeles. This was not the case in 2001.

there is very little to no coverage, for most of the visitor areas at south mountain, this includes the areas at the base of the mountain (the entrance area). sometimes you'll catch a "stray" signal but it will disappear just as fast it appeared. i have had sprint, currently with tmobile, strength (or lack thereof) is the same. friends' phones with qwest, verizon, and att are also the same.
