Since T-Mobile operates on the 1900 MHz frequency, you'll probably see the same results inside your apartment.

Default t-mobile in orange county?

I live in the Inland Empire and have used T-Mobile in Riverside, Orange, LA and San Diego Counties with no problem. Obviously every carrier has dead spots but, for the most part, I have been happy with the service in all of those areas.

Cingular has good coverage in most of OC except for some notable spots such as Irvine. The city of Irvine is unfortunately very tough to work w/hence the tough coverage in some of the newer developments. Other than that your good to go.

Default t-mobile in orange county?

I had T-Mobile for a month I had no problems in Huntington Beach / Westminster Area. Billing was a different story. I do not usual go to the Irvine area, so I can't say what it is like there. I barely got a signal inside my house, had to go out side to make any calls. And T-Mobile uses Cingular's system in California, so they sould be identical.

Oh man, so the T68i in Irvine wouldn't be a good choice then? Damn!

I want to switch from Sprint to T-Mobile for the T68i deal on amazon.com (free after MIR).

So T-Mobile uses the Cingular network in SoCal? So then there are also the "system busy" problems then?

Default t-mobile in orange county?

i think going from t-mobile to sprint in orange county is a good idea. oc register did a survey of all providers and cingular and t-mobile got the best scores. verizon got one of the worst and i think sprint was right there with verizon. i have t-mobile in irvine and it works great. chino hills is the only place i've had problems with.

Default t-mobile in orange county?

I switched from Sprint to T-Mobile a couple of weeks ago. I could never get a signal on the Sprint network whenever I traveled along I-5 through Camp Pendleton or from my home in San Juan Cap. Ever since I began using T-Mobile's service, I can pull anywhere from 3 to 5 bars through Camp Pendlenton and I get 1 to 3 bars from my home. I am so pleased with T-Mobile and my new Samsung V-205. I used the Amazon deal with a local T-Mobile owned store and they met the Amazon price point.

Default t-mobile in orange county?

Hello Everyone,

I'm originally from NorCal and just to answer the question asked about T-Mobile, yes they use Cingular's network infrastructure in all of CA/NV and the Carolinas on the East Coast. So regardless of whether you use T-Mobile or Cingular as your provider in these states, the coverage will normally be the same or even equal since they share one provider's towers but in the case of CA, T-Mobile relies on Cingular's network (towers etc) but maintains their own switches. I am not an insider on these things so I cann't explain why T-Mobile uses their own switches so if I had to venture a guess, I'd say that T-Mobile has their own switches to prevent/minimize network busies or dropped calls.

I haven't ventured outside of the Bay Area yet using Cingular GSM but their joint coverage on the Peninsula and at SFO is quite good.
